The Rieck Logistics-Group has its origins in a Berlin haulage company founded in 1877.The current generation is the fourth generation of the Rieck family to be active in the company.

After the Second World War, the company headquarters was located in Berlin. Between 1996 and 2001, the Rieck Logistic-Group gradually moved to the new Großbeeren cargo transport centre near Berlin, where its main office is now also situated.

Shortly after the political change in Germany, in 1990, Rieck took over the newly created IDS Logistik general cargo franchise areas of East Brandenburg and East Saxony.

Rieck is consistently expanding its Chinese business, which was started as a German-Chinese joint venture in 1997. The group now has its own company and twelve locations in China.

Since 2000, the company has been managed using a holding structure.

As the exclusive German partner in the worldwide TANDEM Global Logistics network since 2001 and as a member of the International Transport Association and the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (IATA / FIATA), the Rieck Logistic-Group is globally active in the air and sea sector.

The Rieck Logistics-Group has held a stake in the Rostock-based forwarding company HOMTRANS, the IDS partner for the eastern German state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, since 2008.

A location in St. Petersburg, Russia, as a result of its stake in HOMTRANS, and its own contract logistics location in Mikulov in the Czech Republic affirm the group‘s growth in Europe.

In 2008, the Rieck Logistic-Group achieved a turnover of 130 million Euros with its workforce of 670 employees. Its main business continues to be general cargo. It is also active in air and sea transport plus, increasingly, in contract logistics operations.
